Conn Sullivan is working alongside Mary, rebuilding the homestead, when the telegram arrives. Junior Sheffield needs help.
Conn rides to the logging boomtown of Stump Run, where he finds trouble stacked high as timber.
Junior is gone. Some say he ran. Others say he’s dead. A few whisper he’s still here but hiding.
Then a logger turns up dead in the river… and Junior becomes the prime suspect. Conn doesn’t buy it.
To uncover the truth, he infiltrates Widowmaker Camp, the roughest logging outfit on the frontier, an isolated place ruled by fists and fear. Surrounded by violent roughnecks, shadowed by hidden enemies, and chasing secrets deeper and darker than a lodgepole forest, he faces the longest of odds.
But when Conn Sullivan makes a promise, he keeps it… or dies trying.
